Montecassino and Rome- With Photos of Montecassino

Sept. 29 and 30
Days 13 and 14

Day 13- Montecassino and Rome
On our way to Rome with a stop off at the Abby of Montecassino. WOW this place was unbelievable, way high up a mountain in the middle of no where with views to die for! It almost makes you want to become a monk! The Abby was amazing and beautiful , we took tons of photos. Only had about an hour or so but really enjoyed our stop here. Maybe even nicer that St. Peters in Rome....

We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Rome at about 3:00 PM with a little time to relax before our farewell dinner. Dinner in Rome was very good, it was a small restaurant and each woman was presented with a peach rose from the Maitre'd. Great food, great service and live music too. It was a fun evening. After dinner we had an evening tour of Rome at night and went to all the major attractions. Rome was beautiful in the evening. We bid Arrivederci to our travel companions and off to bed for an early flight home.

*Overview- All in all, the trip was fabulous. I would recommend a bus tour through Italy. It was nice to get a sampling of the different regions with the idea to return to the ones you like the most. It was an relaxing journey, with good people, good food, and amazing views. And remember, the biggest plus---- NO LINES, being part of a tour you get into all major sites first, no waiting.... And someone else does the driving so you just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride.........
